Destination In Peru
 City Of Lima Colonial

Rich, powerful, beautiful—and cooled by westerlies from the north-flowing Humboldt Current—Lima was the seat of the vice regency of Spain's colonial cities. Built to the 1573 Law of the Indies, which set out strict dictates for every detail of design, construction, and placement of churches and public buildings, Lima flourished with wealth flowing from the silver mines at Potosí. The old city, one of UNESCO's World Heritage treasures, is now surrounded by affluent suburbs and vast slums.

Cusco City

is considered to be the archaeological capital of America. It was nicknamed the "World's Navel" by the Incas. It is now the first cultural center of Peru and has been proclaimed as "Humankind's Cultural Heritage" by UNESCO. Cusco's beauty and history make this a haven for tourists. Throughout the city there are important archaeological monuments like the Sacsayhuaman's Fortress, Kenko, Tambomachay's Baths, Pisac's terraces, and Ollantaytambo's Fortress. And of course we can't forget Machu Picchu,
which was discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911 and now known as "the Capital of America" or "Eternal City".  The large number of museums and churches has made Cusco the most important tourist area in Peru. The Inca Trail also offers an amazing look at the beauty of the terrain surrounding Machu Picchu.

  INCA TRAIL

Would you like to climb one of the 7 wonders of the world? Today, thousands of tourists visit Cusco every year to hike the famous Inca Trail, such a fascinating experience that its fame has spread around the world. The trail has a well-earned reputation for the variety of flora and fauna, the landscapes that run up to the pass at 4,000 meters above sea level, the path overwhelmed by steamy jungle vegetation. People flock here from all over the world to get a first-hand experience of the same trail that the Incas walked more than 500 years ago.

 Lake Titicaca in Puno

This is the world's highest navigable lake. It is 193 KM long and 64 KM wide, with a maximum depth of 300 meters. The amazing landscapes and impressive snow-capped mountains of the Cordillera Real are not to be missed. It is said that the Uros (group of people that live on reed islands near in the middle of Lake Titicaca) are descendants of the oldest race in the world. In Puno, don't miss great monuments like: the Cathedral, the Conde de Lemos's Balcony, the Arch Deustua, the Municipal Paintings Room, the Dryer Museum and the Popular Art Museum. Just 30 KM away from the capital are the Chullpas of Sillustani, which are tombs of the Hatuncollas' leaders (great men), and many other vestiges of ancient cultures that inhabited the region. The Department of Puno has always done its best to remain loyal to Peru, while keeping peace with Bolivia in order to rationally and fairly use the resources of Lake Titicaca.

Arequipa       The capital of the department is called Arequipa or "the White City", due to the many structures built using the white sillar stone. Arequipa is a popular tourist destination due to its diverse architecture such as: temples, convents, monasteries and the very famous Santa Catalina Convent, which dates back to 1580.
The countryside provides beautiful landscapes and the surrounding towns off Cayma, Carmen Alto, Yanahuara and Characato are charming. The impressive and gorgeous volcanic cone of the Misti Mountain forms the backdrop of the area.

The coastal area has the Mejia, Mollendo and Camana beach resorts and the Yura, Socosani and Jesus thermal baths.

The Colca Canyon, located in the Province of Cailloma, runs more than 100 km of length and is 3400 meters at its deepest point. It is considered the deepest canyon of the world. The Colca area is very popular for rafting, kayaking, trekking.

The Aguada Blanca Reserve is one of the principal reserves dedicated to the reproduction of vicuñas. Their fine fur is used for high quality textiles.

Ica  .There are good beaches, diverse marine wildlife, interesting museums and excellent hotel services to be found in Ica. One of the highlights is the Paracas National Reserve, where live a number of animal colonies such as sea lions and coastal birds reside. The "Nazca Lines" are a must see for any tourist. These 32 drawings of marine and terrestrial animals, human and geometric figures cover an area of more than 350 km. The city of Ica is well known because of the wineries surrounding the city. Tourists can take day tours of the different wineries and their production facilities and of course, sample the finishing product.

Chachapoyas Capital of Amazon
The Amazon jungle region of Peru is still a great mystery and most of the pre-Hispanic cultures that became prosperous in the area remain unknown due to the lack of research. During the Inca Age the Sachapuyas represented a strong opposition to the Tahuantinsuyo by rejecting the first Inca's attempts to incorporate that region into the Empire. The capital of the department is Chachapoyas. It was founded in 1538 by Alonso de Alvarado. In the same year, the first church was built. The construction of the Santa Ana's Church, San Lazaro and Señor de Burgos soon followed. In April 1821, the Chachapoyas' inhabitants ignored and exiled the Spanish authorities following the steps taken by the San Martín's Liberating Army. The department of Amazonas was focused on making Peru a sovereign nation. Toribio Rodriguez de Mendoza was an outspoken representative of the cause and encouraged the people

Shipasbamba
Our ultimate destination in the heart of the Amazon is the remote village of Shipasbamba, where most families still cook over an open fire, and get around on foot or horseback.  Shipasbamba has 900 residents, most of whom are farmers, or small shop owners.  Staying in Shipasbamba is like stepping back 100 years in time.  Electricity and running water were brought to this village only six years ago.  It is a town where you will rarely see an automobile, or hear anything other than the sounds of nature, and children calling out to one another as they play.  Shipasbamba is a very safe village where you will have the freedom to explore, and interact with the people on your own.
